Is experience the only truth of life?

It is said that whatever we learn in our lifetime is acquired through experience in one form or another. Experience is the truth of life that remains with us from beginning to end. For instance, when a baby is as delicate as a tender bud, it has neither an understanding of the heat of fire nor an awareness of the sharpness of thorns.

But if, by chance, the baby’s hand even slightly touches a flame, it immediately realizes how intense and dangerous the heat of fire is. Similarly, if any part of its body comes into contact with the thorns of a tree, it instantly feels their sharpness. This experience becomes permanently imprinted on the mind.

In the same way, every moment of our lives—whether small or significant—moves along with us as an experience. Like Lord Krishna, the charioteer of Arjuna, experience becomes our guide and continuously teaches us something valuable at every step.

Therefore, I firmly believe that experience alone is the ultimate truth of life. It helps us cross all the steps of rise and fall, shapes us into capable human beings, and paves the right path for us. The one who accepts experience as a teacher and learns like a devoted student is able to pass the examination of life with ease. Experience also leaves behind countless memories—both pleasant and painful.

In the fair of experience, there lies the memories —some bring wounds, while others provide healing.

At times, it makes us laugh, at times, it brings us tears.

At times, it might flow like a river, taking sudden turns and leaving us adrift and alone;

At times, it stands by us with unwavering support.

Ups and downs are merely a part of the film of memories;

With experience being the truth itself.

It is said that human life is attained after passing through 8.4 million life forms—so does experience lie hidden even within this? In response, one can simply ask: then where did someone learn to swim like a fish and fly like a bird?

Whether in subtle ways or on a broader scale, we all have learned something at every moment. Some took a leap in a single instant, while others learned slowly and steadily like a tortoise. Because in life, there is truly no such thing as defeat—there is only learning through experience. Victory and defeat are merely the terms of competition.
